House Richter
Overview
The plot itself is something special, with a view that’s nothing short of breathtaking. On clear days, you can see all the way from Table Mountain to Jonkershoek in Stellenbosch, and the Paarlberg mountain range in Paarl. With a vista like that, the design had to take full advantage of the landscape.

But there was a catch: the plot sits atop a granite koppie, which meant traditional construction methods weren’t going to cut it. After some thought, we recommended using steel construction. It provided a solid foundation while keeping the costs manageable. It was the perfect solution, allowing us to build on this stunning site, and ensuring those jaw-dropping views will be part of the homeowner’s life for years to come.
We also designed the home with flexibility in mind. It’s set up so that a lift can be added in the future, making it accessible to everyone in the family, no matter their needs.

Design New Stories
In the end, the homeowners were thrilled with the result. Their new home feels like a true reflection of their personalities—bold, practical, and functional—while still celebrating the beauty of the surrounding mountains.
